Anne King

Anne has more than 20 years experience in pharmaceutical communications and marketing. She founded King Public Relations (KPR) in 2001 to offer tailored, strategic public relations support to pharmaceutical and healthcare clients — including strategic planning, issues management, media relations, project management and advocacy outreach, as well as other PR services.

At KPR, Anne led the external public relations team for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals’ hemophilia franchise. She directed public relations initiatives for Wyeth’s hemophilia therapies, including the U.S. regulatory approval for Xyntha, and the introduction of product enhancements for BeneFIX and ReFacto. She also provided issues management counsel regarding a hemophilia product shortage in 2003 and helped create the first and only conference for hemophilia summer camps.

KPR also worked with FEI Women’s Health offering public relations support for its ParaGard IUD, and provided counsel to Pfizer for its cardiovascular therapeutic franchise.

Prior to starting KPR, Anne was a vice president at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. There, she directed public relations campaigns for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, including the domestic launch of Rapamune, a new class of immunosuppressant, and the global and domestic launch of ReFacto. Also at Ogilvy, Anne launched the first in a new product category, Unipath’s ClearPlan Easy Fertility Monitor.

At Cohn & Wolfe, she managed the public relations launch of Gemzar the first oncology product for Eli Lilly and Company, and handled pre-approval activities for Evista, the company’s first osteoporosis therapy.

Earlier, Anne worked in the non-profit sector, serving as the manager of communications at the National Hemophilia Foundation. She oversaw all communications, acted as organizational spokesperson, and liased with government and industry representatives. In addition, she established the organization’s first direct community communications program, which was honored by the American Society of Association Executives.

Anne earned a B.A. in English from the University of Dallas Constantine College of Liberal Arts.
